Wedding Al Fresco at the Drake Oak Brook

The morning began in the comforts of Lucia & Rosario’s family’s homes with their loved ones. They were blessed with perfect weather, and when you combine that with a puppy dressed in a bowtie, you know the day is going to be amazing. Lucia pulled up in a stretch limo right before the ceremony began at SS. Cyril and Methodius. With some restrictions due to Covid-19, only Rosario, Lucia, their respective parents & flower girl/ring bearer walked down the aisle. To see the joy on Rosario’s face when he laid eyes on his bride for the first time was priceless.

After the ceremony, Rosario & Lucia drove around town in their Maserati, with lots of photos and laughs as they were celebrating that they finally were married. When they arrived to the Drake in Oak Brook, they hopped atop their vespa that was decked out in floral by Avant Gardenia. The couple & their families are 100% Italian, so it only made sense to bring it to the wedding. It sat near the fountain during the outdoor reception.

Cocktail hour was full of tasty appetizers, live music and socially distanced tables to make sure everyone felt comfortable. Guests were then invited to take their seats for a decadent 6 course meal.

Even though Lucia & Rosario were expecting a larger wedding, having to downsize due to Covid restrictions, they were still surprised with a video made of all the family and friends who could not be there, even some family from Italy! A video was played once it got dark out, and that surprise meant the world to the newlyweds.

The night finished with a cake cutting, heartfelt speeches, favors from Italy, and first dances under twinkling café lights. We want to wish Rosario & Lucia a lifetime of happiness, and we hope to see you both again in the near future!
