Happy Memorial Day weekend! This weekend brings us back to last year when Emily & Jason were married at the Blackstone Hotel in Chicago. It was a beautiful Saturday, much like it was yesterday!
Emily and Jason started dating in 2013 after meeting at a bar in Columbus (on karaoke night!!). In April 2017, Jason proposed in London with his parents/siblings hiding in a near by bush where they “popped” out of afterward. Both Emily and Jason say Europe is their favorite place they’ve traveled, so talk about a romantic engagement. It makes sense that they both fell in love with the Blackstone when they walked into the Crystal Ballroom. It has many European touches including the balcony surrounding the perimeter, gold chandeliers, intricate molding, and art deco hallways. And another amazing benefit of getting married at the Blackstone Hotel is it’s located directly across from Grant Park so it’s a step away from a beautiful picture location!
Lets talk about the wedding day! Emily & Jason spent the morning with their closest family and friends. They met up for the first time in the Formal Gardens across the street from the hotel. The happy couple was joined by their wedding party for pictures outside!
The bridesmaids all had long dresses with different neck lines in different shades of blue. It was the perfect palette for a Spring wedding. While the groomsmen looked matching at first sight, Jason did gift them fun bold socks for a little secret surprise!
Emily & Jason had both a priest and a rabbi to double-officiant their ceremony. They had a gorgeous chuppah designed by Flowers For Dreams where they broke the glass to conclude the ceremony!
Cocktail hour was located in Art Hall, where the hotel features gorgeous art work for guests to walk around and look at while enjoying appetizers and an open bar. Later, the guests were invited back into the Crystal Ballroom after the room was magically transformed with romantic flowers, dim lighting and homemade toffee at each table.
After a delicious meal catered by the Blackstone, guests joined on the dance floor for the horah and a few more hours of non-stop dancing, thanks to the Lakeshore Encores! Oh what a night it was!
