Lauren & Joe – where to begin? I began working with these two teachers after a past client recommended us. The funny thing is the past couple was also a teacher duo and they all work together in the same high school! Do you remember when you were in high school and a few teachers had that romantic connection, I feel like it was always the talk of the town. I can’t imagine how many of their students bombarded them with questions along the way!
Anyways, back to Lauren & Joe’s big day. Lauren only wanted her sister to be her maid of honor but she still wanted to include her large group of girlfriends to the Westin to get ready together. They all helped put a picture of Lauren’s mom who passed on her bouquet.
Unfortunately it was a rainy start to the day but it cleared up when the two went down the river walk for the first look and pictures. They walked all the way over to the East Bank Club to await their rooftop ceremony! The only problem was it rained for about 30 minutes before the ceremony started. We had to make the decision, continue the ceremony on the rooftop or move it inside? The forecast was looking okay! There was supposed to be a gap with no rain so we crossed our fingers and continued on with the rooftop ceremony. To our happy surprise, the rain did not come back so they were able to have the city skyline as their backdrop.
Dinner and dancing followed inside. Lauren and Joe had beautiful centerpieces and lighting provided by Ashland Addison.
