Lindsey & Mitch were one of those out-of-state couples that you wish lived next door. They were so, so kind and supportive to work with throughout the entire planning process and they were easy going when the weather took a bit of a turn leading up to the big day.
Lindsey & Mitch had a ceremony planned down a long aisle of trees at St. James Farm Forest Preserve in Warrenville, IL. It’s honestly a breathtaking backdrop that takes a lot of coordination to set up with the parking, pathways, chair delivery and other setup. So when it was predicted to be outrageously hot with a high percentage chance of rain, we were on our toes as to what we should do for wedding day.
We did have an indoor backup plan in the bride’s parent’s community but that’s not what we had been dreaming up for months. So when the predicted storm hit earlier than expected, we were thrilled. But that didn’t mean the grounds would be dry for the wedding so we changed it over to another beautiful location around the corner. It happened to work out perfectly; with closer proximity to the parking lot (easier accessibility) and flatter grounds for the chairs we were happy with our decision.
But don’t worry, they still got to take pictures in the tree aisle with a huge BONUS! Wait for it…… scroll down….. what do you see? There happened to be a bunch of horses on property and the jockey was so kind to let the newly married couple take pictures with it. A dream come true for a horse lover, which Lindsey very much was so.
They continued their celebration over at Elements at Water Street, a wedding and event venue in Hotel Indigo downtown Naperville. It’s part of the new Water Street District. Because I was born and raised in Naperville, it’s so exciting seeing the city grow and have more availability to host weddings! My favorite 🙂
The reception was full of sincere speeches, a rocking band and a whole lot of dancing. We cannot wait to be back in that space, in a town we will always call home!
