Invitation styling – something that some couples don’t care about, but some couples love! So for those who love the idea of presenting your pretty goods, this one is for you.

Your wedding day is likely the only time that you will get a professional photo taken of your invitation suite and other stationery details. This is why you should make sure to bring along a copy of all these items to the location you’re getting ready. Some of the items you can include in these photos are:

1. Invitation suite: main invitation and envelope, reception card, RSVP card and envelope, details card, extra stamps, belly bands and other embellishments
2. Wedding day stationery: program, menu, place cards, etc.
3. Save the date: we recommend adding this in if it matches the rest of your suite
4. Rings: both partner’s engagement ring(s) and wedding bands
5. Ring box
6. Jewelry: earrings, bracelets, necklaces, additional rings, etc.
7. Jewelry tray/holder
8. Flowers
9. Ribbon
10. Veil/dress belt (if detachable)
11. Shoes/clutch
12. Perfume/cologne

Tips

• You can ask your florist to drop off a few extra blooms with your bouquets to style your suite or you can pull a few blooms out from the bottom of a bridesmaids’ bouquet (where it’s not obvious)
• Styling boards – some photographers bring these along but a majority do not. If you want a consistent background, styling boards can make the suite stand out.
• If you don’t have any extra invitations, ask your parents or best friend to borrow one for the day
• Styling invitation suites truly can incorporate anything that’s special for you on your wedding day, so get creative!
• Put all of the items you want styled in one place the morning of your wedding. This way, the photographer does not have to search around for things, rather they can just organize it, take the photo, and move on.

Styling invitations are not necessary nor always desirable. But if you do want a photo like these, we recommend planning out the details in advance (so you don’t forget anything) and to talk with your photographer to see what they own and can bring!
