April 1, 2019
October is a beautiful month to get married in Chicago. Although, it can be unpredictable because you’re never sure if it will be warm or the beginning of winter weather. But if you’re lucky, there is usually a few week period where the leaves begin to change colors. I wish the leaves turned consistently every year but that’s asking way too much dealing with the unstable weather in the windy city.
Alison & Michael were the lucky couple to get married on the tail end of the color change. They were also blessed with a sunny and crispy cold (AKA just cold enough that you had to wear a light jacket) day. Given Alison’s dress design, a gorgeous elbow-length lace sleeve, the weather was just what they had hoped for.
It was an early start to the day considering 15 ladies were scheduled to get hair and makeup done. The morning was full of coffee, breakfast and last but not least, bottles of champagne!
The wedding party boarded into the trolley to head to St. Chrysostom’s Episcopal Church while Alison took a separate limo with her immediate family so they could share that quiet, special moment together.
After a full mass & a big happy kiss, the wedding party went around the city for pictures. We can’t get enough of those gorgeous trees!
Cocktail hour was held on the second floor of the Union League Club. One hour of mingling and eating delicious appetizers was plenty because these wedding guests were ready to party. Everyone shuffled up to the sixth floor ballroom where the room was full of crystal chandeliers, beautiful florals and a large white dance floor where the band was lined and ready to rock.
I will never forget October 27th, 2019. Alison & Michael are just about the nicest people and they are so perfect together. We all just grabbed dinner a few weeks ago and we reminisced on how perfect the day was from start to end!
