Happy November! Looking at all the beautiful fall trees outside our window really does bring me back to the gorgeous colors throughout Chicago on Caitlin and Vito’s wedding day. And now that it’s their anniversary, it seems like the perfect day to reminisce on the day they tied the knot over at Saint Vincent de Paul and the Warwick Allerton Hotel!
The morning started out in style for both Caitlin and Vito. Caitlin had all her girls meet at the Warwick Allerton Hotel and they got ready in matching light gray PJs in a bright, tall ceiling space on the top floor of the hotel. Full of natural light and windows that overlooked the sun-shining city, it was the perfect way to wake up and get all dressed up. I feel like a lot of times, the groomsmen are overlooked because they don’t have matching outfits like the girls. Well Vito absolutely killed it and got all of his groomsmen matching blue Adidas tracksuits. He also got his pup, King Arthur, a matching blue tracksuit as well. It’s a pet friendly hotel so it only made sense to include their fur ball who hung out with the guys in the morning!
After getting dressed and enjoying some light cocktails, the wedding party traveled over to Saint Vincent de Paul where they were joined by guests for the ceremony. They said “I-Do”, kissed, took some stunning photos on the outside stairs to showcase Caitlin’s long train, and then paraded over with the wedding party to a local bar to take a quick shot to warm them up. It doesn’t get more fun than that!
After taking photos around the city, the wedding party was dropped off at the Warwick Allerton Hotel while Caitlin and Vito separately trolley’d to the Art Institute Garden for some alone time for portraits and to share some hand written vows that they were not able to read during their church ceremony. It was private, intimate, and full of happy tears. We loved their idea to keep this moment just them, and of course they have the photographs to remember.
Caitlin and Vito met up with their wedding guests just in time for cocktails on the top floor of the hotel. Caitlin’s friend, Patrick, hand drew the welcome sign which was a replica of the hotel. If only I could draw like that! They paired that up with a seating chart that showed guests where they would sit in the ballroom.
Transitioning over to dinner, it was time to party! Full of a delicious menu, gorgeous setting full of fall flowers, sparkly chandeliers, a menu with Italian flair (to represent the groom!), it’s safe to say the room was ready to go. Some heartfelt speeches and a cake cutting later, it was time to dance! Guests were invited to the other side of the ballroom where Caitlin and Vito danced under the glistening chandelier. Then guests were able to join, all while some glow sticks were put out to enhance the dance party. Later came dessert with adorable customized dessert to-go baggies that had King Arther (remember, their cute pup!) sketched in gold.
We really do miss this day, all the laughs, and the fresh cool air that was FULL of love. Wishing Caitlin and Vito the best day ever to celebrate their one year anniversary!
