Hello and happy Monday! Now that we have a little break from weddings due to the current pandemic, we’ve been spending a lot of time refreshing our marketing materials, updating information about our services, and creating more and more helpful wedding documents to provide to our lovely couples. While we also just finished updating our website with some new pictures and content, the overall layout and design holds true to the beginning which we are still thrilled with.
It brings me back to early early 2018 when we launched our official website and overall brand. I realize I never gave enough credit to our beyond-amazing brand and website designer, Leslie Vega Designs. Our brand image has positively impacted our business. People have commented how much they love the language on our website and feel comfortable with us even before we’ve had a real conversation. They say they love the concept of our logo and the bright/colorful and clean appearance of our marketing items. I cannot attribute enough of that to Miss. Leslie.
Leslie is based in Florida, which some people may think is weird because we never met, but I see it as a positive thing. No one in the Chicagoland area has a brand that looks quite like the one Leslie designed. I encourage other companies from Chicago and surrounding states to reach out to her if you are in need of a brand re-fresh or an updated website. She was extremely easy to work with and she helped guide me through the entire process. She would ask questions and provide initial concepts which together we would tweak until we came up with the final product.
Leslie is also so kind and overall a delight to work with. I value a “nice working experience” more than anything because that’s the approach I try to take with my clients. We should have conversations in a professional manner but yet they are light-hearted and have a natural sense of comfort so opinions can be easily stated without judgement. Leslie nailed this one without a doubt.
What makes Leslie so great in her field is she understands multiple back-of-house ways to design a website. I personally already knew how to use WordPress so I asked to use a WordPress based website. I know that she can also work with Squarespace, Custom ShowIt and even Shopify. There are ways to make your website look more elevated as well. For us in particular, I love the 3 main boxes on our home page that say “meet Danielle,” “our services” and “read the blog”. When you hover over them, a palm leaf border appears before clicking. I’m all about the little touches and I still love that specific detail, among many others.
Anyways, I’m feeling sentimental today so I’m sharing some of our original designs that have barely changed, even 2 years later!
Our logo and sub logos came first. Then, off to website layout!
And when the wording, pictures and elements were finalized, we had the final product.
Thanks once again, Leslie. You have attributed to much of my success and I know I won’t need a rebrand in a very long time thanks to your timeless and classic vision. I love supporting other small businesses (although it looks like yours is exploding!), especially in a difficult time that we are in right now.
xoxo,
Danielle, Ohana Events
