Planning out breakfast for the bridal party on the big day may seem like a minor detail – but trust the experts! A balanced and delicious breakfast is of major importance. “But Ohana, where do I get breakfast from? Who is going to pick it up? And most importantly, what do I even order?!” We are here to give you all of our “Big Day Breakfast” tips & tricks. Don’t forget to scroll to the bottom where we provide some sample orders!
It is important to consider what to order on wedding day. Some fantastic options can include:
COFFEE! With all the fixins: cream & sugar
Juice: for mimosas of course 😉
Fruit
Bagels/Pastries: carbs are good for long days of drinking!
Smoothies
Yogurt and granola
Nutrition bars: easy to take on the go!
Water bottles: hydration is KEY!
Disposables: coffee cups, plates, napkins, utensils, etc.
There are many options breakfast options throughout the Chicagoland area to choose from. Some of our favorites are:
Panera
Goddess and the Grocer
Corner Bakery
Einstein Bros Bagels
LYFE Kitchen
From your hotel! This usually costs more but it is very convenient.
Whole foods – delivery is not an option but you can pick up the night before (if you have fridge space) or the morning of.
Distribute hotel room numbers. The morning of your wedding day you want to ensure that you can live in the moment and enjoy getting ready with your closest ladies. For this reason, we always recommend having breakfast delivered or dropped off by a family member! For either option, be sure to let them know the night before what your room number is for delivery. That way they don’t get stuck at the front desk of the hotel. The quicker they can make it to your room, the better chance there’s no issues (some hotels do not allow outside food in).
The less messy – the better. It is best to minimize the possibility of spills on any of the bridal party’s clothing for the day. This means go for the non-greasy options! This also means double check utensils will be provided.
Order a little extra. Is there such thing as too much food? No, there is such thing as running out though. Make sure you order extra coffee and treats for your hair and make-up artists (and for potential random pop-ins by family members in the hotel). Your hair and makeup artists will have an early start right alongside you and would appreciate the thought. And maybe with that extra cup of joe, they will be more focused while working!
Gluten free accommodations. Have any gluten free members of the bridal party? It is important to consider them when ordering the breakfast – you have to make sure they are fed too!
Order in advance. If you order directly from the restaurant, many times they get fully booked up for deliveries. They can only deliver so many orders at one time. So we recommend ordering at least 3 days in advance if you don’t want any issues to arise. But remember to call the day before to let them know the room number to deliver to!
